UV Jones IV is a Midland native with nearly fifteen years of experience in the oil and gas industry. After earning his Bachelor of Philosophy from Vanderbilt University, he completed his J.D. at Oklahoma City University School of Law. UV began his career as a petroleum landman in 2011 and, after two years, transitioned into the practice of oil and gas law, drafting title opinions for major and large independent operators in the Permian Basin. He is a member of the PBLA, AAPL, and the State Bar of Texas.

As an experienced Texas lawyer, UV focuses on oil, gas, mineral, and energy law, with particular expertise in transactions and real property title opinions. His practice delivers expert guidance at the intersection of oil and gas and real property law, including complex webs of ownership. Through in-depth research, UV identifies potential risks, develops actionable solutions, and provides clear, well-structured opinions.

In 2022, UV relocated to Oxfordshire, UK, to support his partner’s studies at Oxford University. From this international base, he continues to expand his practice—offering clients in the UK access to Texas legal advice and helping Texas-based clients connect with the European market.

Beyond title opinions, UV conducts due diligence for the purchase and sale of oil and gas interests. Companies ranging from major operators to small independents have relied on his analysis and recommendations. He also advises mineral owners, verifying existing or prospective mineral interests and ensuring they are paid correctly in line with their rights.

Outside of his legal practice, UV enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and two sons, and traveling whenever possible.
